Popular Dancehall artiste Alkaline’s smash hit “Formula” is a year old and still making waves as the single was recently featured on French Montana new album
The 32 year old Rap superstar and frequent collaborator of “Drake”, still wildly trending from his recent mega-hit, collaborative single Unforgettable” with rapper Swae Lee of popular rap group Rae Sremmurd has recently dropped his sophomore album “Jungle Rules”, a follow up of his debut 2013 album “The Perfect Match”.
The album features a number of stars such as; The Weeknd, T.I and Young Thug. The rapper being a fan of Jamaican Dancehall music and having ties with DJ Frass (Alkaline’s Producer), decided to do a remix of arguably Alkaline’s biggest hit single, “Formula” and it made its way onto his album. “Jungle rules” was released on July 14th and has been steadily climbing the Billboard Top 200 Chart since.
This is definitely a big break for the the 23 year old Dancehall Signer/rapper, acquiring him more international exposure, while giving the song more mileage, but it could mean even bigger for Dancehall Artists in general as more Stars of French Montana’s caliber gravitate to the culture.
An elated and grateful DJ Frass says it is an achievement deserving of celebration, he also added that other alkaline singles such as Extra Lesson and Fast have also been doing well int he U.S.
