Playboi Carti and Lil Uzi Vert recently got together to finally drop the official visuals for their collaborative project “Wokeuplikethis”. The track, released in the better half of March of this year, is one of the supporting tracks which propelled Carti to his newly found mainstream success. The single, though minute to his biggest track "Magnolia" has done relatively well as it peaked on the Billboard hot 100 chart at No. 76 recently. The track was released on his debut mixtape also titled "Magnolia" and was executive produced by Asap Rocky and Playboi Carti, other producers include Harry Fraud and Hitboy among others. The music video, on the other hand, was directed by JMP.
The video depicts Uzi and Playboi Carti as convicted felons, locked up in a maximum security prison. However, the rappers seem unbothered, simply spending their leisure time hanging out in the prison courtyard getting their hairs braided.
